William P. "Pint" Lykens, 92 of Clearfield died on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at Ridgeview Elder Care Rehabilitation Center, Curwensville.
He was born on April 16, 1917 in Tyrone, a son of the late John and Eva (Patton) Lykens.
Mr. Lykens owned and operated City Auto Sales in Clearfield. Prior to that, he was the sales manager at Fred Diehl Motors, Clearfield.
He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Clearfield, a member and past commander of the Clearfield American Legion John Lewis Shade Post #6 and a member of the Free and Accepted Masons, Clearfield Noble Lodge #480.
He served in the US Army during WW II.
He is survived by his wife, Betty B. (Lawhead) Lykens, whom he wed November 27, 1942 in Trinity United Methodist Church, Clearfield,

Ronald Lykens and wife Joanne of DuBois
five grandchildren,
Brent Lykens, Kevin Lykens, Kristen Ryan, Dr. Nicki Lykens, Dr. Brandi Smith
8 great grandchildren,
a sister,
Eleanor Fetters of Tyrone
and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Jack Lykens.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Wednesday at
11:00 A.M. with Rev. Hiram B. Westover officiating. Interment will follow in the Centre Cemetery, Hyde.
Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by members of the Clearfield American Legion & the Clearfield Veterans of Foreign Wars Posts honor guard .
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-8:00 PM and on Wednesday from
10-11:00 AM.
A Masonic service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 5:45 PM.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 121 S. 2nd Street, Clearfield.
