William Mchenry

William R. McHenry, 80

of LeContes Mills died on Friday, August 1, 2008 at his home.

He was born on October 31, 1927 in LeContes Mills, a son of the late Philmore B. and Esther (Miller) McHenry.

Mr. McHenry was employed for over thirty one years with Penelec at Shawville, retiring on May 31, 1990.
He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Frenchville and a lifetime member of the Leigey Renaud Post #8386, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Frenchville.
He was also a member of the Clearfield American Legion John Lewis Shade Post No. 6, the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 812 and the Clearfield Benevolent Protective Order of Elks No. 540. In addition he belonged to the Mosquito Creek Sportsman's Club, the Sinnemahoning Sportsman's Club, the National Wildlife Federation, the National Turkey Federation and the National Audubon Society.
He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by two daughters; Shelly Marie Farmery and husband Benjy of Clearfield, Kelly Marie McHenry of San Diego, CA, two sisters and a brother; Priscilla Wilson of Clearfield, Mary Walker and husband James of Clearfield and Thomas McHenry and wife Cecile of Harrisburg, and his former wife, Stephanie (Bellingham) McHenry of Dewey Beach, DE.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Eugenia Leitzinger.

Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Marys Catholic Church on Wednesday at 2:30 P.M. with
Rev. Philip Billotte as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Saint Mary Catholic Cemetery, Frenchville.

At the request of Mr. McHenry, there will be no public visitation.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church, 88 St. Mary's Lane, Frenchville or to the charity of one's choice.

The Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield is in charge of the arrangements.
