William D. Quickel, 82, of Clearfield died on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at his home.
He was born on June 23, 1929 in Elizabethtown, a son of the late Kervin and Emma (Dimeler) Quickel.
Mr. Quickel was employed as a truck driver for over 30 years. He also worked as a small engine repairman for Malloy True Value, a maintenance man for Windsor Trailer Court and a Constable in York County. Mr. Quickel also owned and operated Bills CB Shop.
Bill enjoyed many things, including racing, CB sales and service, motorcycles and building custom picture frames. He also loved the outdoors while hunting and deep sea fishing and riding snowmobiles and four wheelers.
Mr. Quickel served with the 104 Calvary Division of the U. S. Army during the 1950's.
He is survived by Dorothy (Derbeque) Quickel whom he wed in 1966; seven sons William Eugene Quickel and wife Sheryl, Barry Quickel, Donny Quickel and wife Rose, Leonard Quickel and wife Lynda, Bryan Quickel and wife Kathy, Bill A. Quickel and wife Melissa and Brad Quickel and wife Melanie; a daughter Loretta Bailey and her fiancé Brent Miller; twenty-three grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Mr. Quickel was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by twin daughters Karen and Sharon Quickel and a brother John Quickel.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Friday at 7 PM with Pastor Jim Knepp officiating.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 5-7 PM.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to any Humane Society of Ronald McDonald House.
