William Leslie Rowles

William “Bill” Leslie Rowles, 86, of Clearfield, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025, at Mountain Laurel HealthCare and Rehabilitation Center in Clearfield. Born on April 10, 1938, he was the son of the late Cloyd and Dorothy Rowles.

He graduated from Clearfield High School and was a member of the Clearfield Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. For many years, Bill could frequently be found at the church or the church school taking care of maintenance tasks that needed done. He was a lifetime member of the Clearfield Fire Department, deputy game warden for the PGC, and served for eight years in the Reserves with the Military Police. Bill was a Lineman for Penelec and retired after 37 years of service.

Bill is survived by his wife Elaine whom he wed on July 3, 1958; a sister Connie (John) Zimmerman; two children, Diana (Keith) Bertram of Wake Forest, NC, Robert (Linda) Rowles of Rapid City, SD; 3 grandchildren, Nathan (Katrina) Turner, Cierra (Blake) Sechman, and Garrett (Ashley) Rowles; 2 great-grandchildren Zoe and Zander Sechman, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by 2 sisters, Lillian Orris, and Janet Carns.
