Wilma Bloom

Wilma Margaret Bloom, 97,of Clearfield died on Monday, August 15, 2016 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.

She was born on July 4, 1919 in South Fork, a daughter of the late Howard and Kathryn (Rodabush) Myers.

Mrs. Bloom was a homemaker who took great pride in raising her family. She will be missed for her love of baking, cooking and canning. She attended Mt. Joy United Methodist Church and Christmas was her favorite holiday; she will be remembered for her decorations and love of the season.

She is survived by three sons, Robert D. Bloom and wife Linea F. of Clearfield, James L. Bloom and wife Carolyn J. of Clearfield and Gerald D. Bloom and wife Kathy L. of Curwensville; eight grandchildren, Melissa Sell, Kim Snyder, Robert Bloom, Jr., Cristen McCracken, Jason D. Bloom, Marcy Milhomme, Andrew Bloom and Susan Lansberry; twelve great grandchildren; and a great great grandson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Anson H. Bloom on May 1, 1972. She was also preceded in death a son, Anson W. 'Tom' Bloom; an infant son, Ronald Bloom; three brothers, Dean, James and Foster Myers; and three sisters, Goldie Fletcher, Bernice Cannonie, and twin sister Carrie Carns.

A memorial service will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Thursday at 1:00 pm with Rev. Kenneth J. Leonard officiating.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 12-1 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Mount Joy United Methodist Church, PO Box 409, Clearfield or the Joseph and Elizabeth Shaw Public Library, 1 S. Front Street, Clearfield.
