Zora Gaylor

Zora M. Gaylor, 89, of Clearfield died on Friday, June 8, 2012 at the Ridgeview Elder Care and Rehabilitation Center, Curwensville.

She was born on April 16, 1923 in Mineral Springs, a daughter of the late Roy A. and Irene (Lauder) Knepp.

Mrs. Gaylor was a homemaker and was previously employed as a sewing machine operator at Clearfield Sportswear from 1943-1952.
She was a member of the West Side United Methodist Church, Clearfield and the ladies auxiliaries of the Clearfield Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie No. 812 and the Clearfield American Legion John Lewis Shade Post No. 6.

She is survived by two children Daniel William Gaylor and companion Kandy and Janet L. Stephens and husband William of Clearfield, three grandchildren, Wendy Sue Gaylor-Davis and husband Jared, Wesley P. Gaylor and wife Kris and David L. Stephens and wife Mandy of Philipsburg; and three great grandchildren, Denise, Dakota and Maddelynn. Mrs. Gaylor was the last immediate member of the Roy A. Knepp family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis J. Gaylor on March 22, 2007 and whom she wed May 8, 1946 in Clearfield. She was also preceded in death by a sister Bealuh Rowles and five brothers, LeRoy, Clay, Clinton, Glenn and Edmund Knepp.

Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Tuesday at 11 AM with Rev. Dr. Joleen A. Willis officiating. Interment will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 6-8 PM and on Tuesday from 10-11 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Clearfield Foundation for Health-Hospice, PO Box 992, Clearfield or to the Ridgeview Elder Care and Rehabilitation Center, 30 4th Avenue, Curwensville.
