Seth Beardsley

Owner, Licensed Funeral Director, Funeral Celebrant, Crematory Operator, Licensed Insurance Agent


Seth has been employed at the Beardsley Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. since September 2011. He became a fully licensed funeral director in the Fall of 2019. Seth became a partner and owner of the funeral home in October 2021 to continue the locally owned tradition.

Seth is a 2013 graduate of Clearfield Area High School. He was a member of 3 District Champion Clearfield Bison football teams, (2010, 2011, 2012) and was a Team Captain in 2012. Seth was a member of the Bison Basketball team during the 2011-2013 seasons, where he also served as Team Captain during 2012-2013. He is now part of the Clearfield Bison Basketball coaching staff and helps with the JV and Varsity teams.

He is an active member of the community. He is a member of the Clearfield Community Pool Board, CRC (Clearfield Revitalization Corporation) Board member, and member of the Knights of Columbus-Curwensville/Grampian Chapter 16090.

He is an Indiana University of Pennsylvania graduate in 2017, with a Bachelor's degree in business management. In September 2018, he graduated from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science and then served his internship at the Beardsley Funeral Home & Crematory.

Seth is a certified Funeral Celebrant and is a Cremation Association of North America (CANA) certified crematory operator. He also is also a licensed life insurance agent, which allows him to assist families in opening irrevocable trusts for their pre-paid funeral expenses.

Brockton Shaffer

Brockton A. Shaffer has been a member of the staff at the Beardsley Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. since September of 2007, completing his resident internship and becoming a licensed funeral director. In February 2011, Brock became a partner in the corporation.

Brock is a 2002 graduate of Meadville Area High School in Meadville, PA. He also is a 2006 graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Music Education. Brock later graduated from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science in 2007 as valedictorian, also receiving the Funeral Service Foundation Scholarship and the Allegheny County Funeral Director Scholarship. Brock was also elected to the Mu Sigma Alpha Fraternal Society by the National Association of Colleges of Mortuary Science in recognition of outstanding Academic Proficiency. 

Before moving to the Clearfield area, Brock was employed by the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home in Meadville and Winter Funeral Home in Pittsburgh.

Brock has been privileged to assist in seminars throughout the United States and London to educate other funeral professionals in the art of Embalming. Brock has also held membership with British Society of Embalmers and the American Embalmers Society. Brock was given the opportunity to assist with the fifth edition of the textbook, Embalming: History, Theory and Practice by Robert G. Mayer that used in most mortuary schools.

He is a member of the National Funeral Directors Association as well as the Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association and the Clearfield/Jefferson County Funeral Director Association.  
Brock is a member of the Clearfield Curwensville Country Club and attends the Hyde Wesleyan Church where he enjoys sharing in music ministry. In his spare time, Brock enjoys being active outdoors and spending time with his wife, Laura, whom he married in July 2023.  He also loves spoiling his dog, Sullivan.

Kevin Beardsley

Owner & Licensed Funeral Director

Kevin has owned and operated the Beardsley Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. in Clearfield and Curwensville since July of 1991. He has been a licensed funeral director since 1985. He is a graduate of North East High School, North East, PA, Northampton County Area Community College, Bethlehem, PA and the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science where he served as class president. Before moving to Clearfield, Kevin was employed in Erie, Corry and in his hometown of North East, all in Pennsylvania.

Kevin is an active member of the community, a member and board member of the Clearfield Curwensville Country Club. He is also a member of the Jefferson-Clearfield County Funeral Directors Association, the Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors Association. In his spare time, Kevin has a real passion for golfing.

He is married to his wife Ann, a registered nurse and assistant professor at Lock Haven University, Clearfield Campus. They have two children, Rachael, who resides in Pittsburgh and is employed in corporate wellness and Seth, who is currently a licensed funeral director at the funeral home.

Kevin takes great pride in the fact that both the funeral home in Clearfield and Curwensville continue to carry on a great tradition of service while maintaining independent ownership. With a tremendous support staff, the Beardsley Funeral Home & Crematory is able to provide services unmatched by any others.
