Beardsley Family donates historic building to Curwensville Area Historical Society
Curwensville, PA – May 20, 2025 – After being contacted by members of the Curwensville Area Historical Society and with much deliberation, Kevin and Ann Beardsley have made the decision to donate the current Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory Curwensville building to the Society.
The building has a long-storied past, with it originally being built in the mid 1800’s for US Representative John Patton. Over the years it has seen many changes of ownership until purchased by Kevin and Ann Beardsley in July of 1991.
Kevin Beardsley, owner of the 815 State Street building states, “We are honored and excited to be able to donate this grand historic building to the Society knowing that it will forever be an important part of the Curwensville community.”
“The Curwensville Area Historical Society greatly appreciates the Beardsley’s’ overwhelming generosity of the gift of the John Patton home to the Society and to the community. The home, a source of community pride, will serve as a gathering place for the Society's events and a repository for the Curwensville area's history,” said Jennifer Tubbs, President of the Society.
With this recent development the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, a trusted name in funeral and cremation services, is pleased to announce the consolidation of their Curwensville operations to their primary location in Clearfield. This move will allow them to enhance their service and provide improved experiences for the families and communities they serve.
By consolidating to the Clearfield location, the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory’s aim is to offer modernized facilities while maintaining the same compassionate and professional care that families have come to expect. The Clearfield facility, located at 113 North Third Street, features updated and handicapped accessible amenities to better serve the community's needs, including their on-site crematory.
According to Seth Beardsley, co-owner of Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, “With the national cremation rate now above 60% and the Clearfield County rate approximately 55%, we feel that with our on-site crematory at the Clearfield facility this consolidation will allow us to better serve those families who choose cremation as a final form of disposition.”
Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory has been serving the Clearfield and Curwensville communities with dedication and care for many years. Known for their compassionate approach and professional services, Beardsley Funeral Home remains committed to supporting families during their times of need. In addition, they are here to serve you no matter where you live in Clearfield County.
All advanced plans (pre-arrangements), including funerals, cremations or burials previously formulated at the Curwensville location will be honored at the Clearfield location. And yes, Beardsley’s can still hold services in Curwensville through their affiliation with the local churches and other venues as needed. As always, they are here to serve you no matter where you live in Clearfield County.
