Obituary for Justine Zemka

Justine Zemka, 99

most recently of Christ the King Manor, Dubois and formerly of Clearfield died on Tuesday, April 13, 2004 at the manor.

She was born on May 16, 1904 in Morrisdale, a daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Dzurilla) Magish.

Mrs. Zemka retired in 1960 from the JC Penney Co. and previously was employed at the former Dumont Airplane and Marine. In addition, she operated her own catering business.
She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield and the Catholic Daughters of America Court #498 where she was past Grand Regent.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph J. Zemka on July 4, 2000 and whom she married February 1, 1925 in Hawk Run, brothers Joseph, Jacob and John Magish, and sisters Helen Magish, Agnes Schile, Mildred Nordone, Martha, Mary, Elizabeth and Catherine Magish.

Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Thursday at 1:30 P.M. with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee, Jr. as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.

Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Wednesday from
6-8:00 PM.

On Wednesday at the funeral home, a memorial service will be said by the members of the Catholic Daughters of America at 6:30 PM and a Christian Vigil Service will be recited at 7:30 PM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Francis Catholic Church, 212 South Front Street, Clearfield, PA 16830.
