A real buddy

To Dean and family:  Your mom and dad were very important folks in my life.  They weren't just acquinstances, they were very special friends.  I enjoyed visiting with your mom the last few summers when I was in Frenchville...I just wish I had been able to see Betty last summer.

I'll never forget the night several years ago when Betty and I were the only two people in the bar.  She would disappear into the kitchen area of the back bar and fix herself something to munch on.  As I sipped my beer, I smelled "scent est bon" (summer savory)  and I asked Betty "what are you cooking?"  She said "Boudin"  (blood pudding), "some that Giz Picard gave me."  "Do you want some?" she asked.  Of course, I said "Yes!"

Betty was family...I remember her mom and dad, too, as well as all her siblings.  She will be sadly missed by all of us and especially by me as she and Chip played  major roles in my life.  I will never ever forget the two of them.

God bless you Betty....and give Chip a hug for me!!
